Surrounded by stunning scenery and with good road links to the Heads of The Valleys and the M4, Blaenavon is the perfect place to run a business. There is a population here of over 6,000 people and with 150,000 people visiting Big Pit in the Town there is no reason why running a business in Blaenavon shouldn't be a success. The main shopping area of Broad Street has been regenerated following the award of Unesco World Heritage Status in 2000 and provides very good retail opportunities with low shop rents and business rates. There are many unique and successful independent shops and businesses that operate from this area of town. The Gilchrist Thomas Industrial Estate houses many successful businesses and now includes a new IT Hub. In 2011 there will be a new development as Rhymney Brewery open their new micro-brewery and visitor centre. 2012 will also the see the town become a catchment area for young families who want to take advantage of the brand new state of the art primary school being built in the town which will see it becoming one of the top primary schools in the area. The BTTA always welcome new businesses to the area, we have a very good relationship with Torfaen County Borough Council, Communities First Blaenavon and Blaenavon Town Council.
